Opening the new route will become possible when El Al takes delivery of more Boeing 787 Dreamliners, sources inform "Globes."

El Al Israel Airlines Ltd. (TASE: ELAL) is continuing its policy of strengthening its Israel-US business and will launch flights between Tel Aviv and Chicago next year, sources inform "Globes." Opening the new route will become possible when El Al takes delivery of more Boeing 787 Dreamliners. The Israeli carrier has received eight of the 16 Dreamliners it ordered and more will be delivered over the next year.

El Al recently announced that it will be launching flights between Tel Aviv and Orlando, Florida in July, while before then new route between Tel Aviv and San Francisco begins in May, and another new route between Tel Aviv and Las Vegas begins in June.

El Al already operates direct flights between Tel Aviv and New York, Boston, Miami and Los Angeles.

El Al declined to comment on the report.
