NEWS DESK | For the third time in a decade, The Orchestra returns to Israel to perform hits from the zenith days of 'Electric Light Orchestra' (ELO). They will perform two concerts at Tel Aviv's Heichal HaTarbut. Our Erica Jackson has the story. Story: The Orchestra is back in Israel. Starring former members of the legendary band ‘Electric Light Orchestra’ and ELO II. This is the third time that British violinist Mik Kaminsky and American keyboardist and vocalist Eric Troyer are bringing the band to Israel. 'The crowd is so enthusiastic here. We come on stage, people chant, we clap... It’s a wonderful place to play for us,' Kaminsky said. Since its formation in 1970, ELO has experienced its share of interruptions, side projects, lineup shakeups and lawsuits. But beyond the disputes, the songs have always remained optimistic, fresh and relevant. 'The quality of the songs, great melodies, lyrics — we have audiences of all ages. It’s passed on from parents to children — a long lasting legacy,' Kaminsky continued. The Orchestra had previously performed in the Holy Land in 2009 and 2015, but have never been contacted by the Boycott Divestment and Sanctions movement to encourage them to cancel their concerts, the band said.
