Israel ranked 13th highest in the world in life expectancy in 2016, according to a survey released this week by the University of Washington.

The study put life expectancy in Israel at 82.1 years. The forecast is for that figure to rise to 84.4 years in 2040, which will improve the country's rank to seventh.
