Jerusalem is set to host 21 artists from 17 countries this month as part of a new project called ArtBnB.

"The project offers an opportunity to live and work in the same place, to get to know the leading forces in Jerusalem's art community, to collaborate with local artists and to leave a mark in the cultural centers themselves or in the public space around them," the organizers said in a statement.

The project will run from Dec. 9-20, and participating artists hail from fields including cinema, theater and photography.

The artists will "live and create in one of three cultural centers in the heart of Jerusalem," the organizers said.

"Twenty-one local artists will also work, accompany, and collaborate with the guests of the project."

After the collaboration ends, an exhibition will showcase the artworks created.

The three cultural venues to host the project are Hamiffal, a 140-year-old mansion renovated by local artists and turned into a cultural center; the Alliance House, a 19th-century building that now serves as a center for interdisciplinary art for local entrepreneurs; and The Terrace, on the roof of the Clal office building.

"The creative work process will take place through dialogue and will be accompanied by the artistic directors of each of the centers," the organizers said.

Shlomo Levi, head of the Young People's Authority in the Jerusalem Municipality, said: "The project connects Jerusalem to the global art scene and provides creators from abroad an opportunity to live and create in the complex environment in Jerusalem."
