Overview: Surgical Theater

Surgical Theater’s virtual and augmented reality-based platform, Precision XR®, enables surgical teams to simulate complex medical procedures prior to conducting surgery and evaluate procedures during surgery. Combining fighter-jet flight simulation technologies with a reconstruction of a patient’s own pathology and anatomy scans taken from a variety of sophisticated medical imaging sources, the company’s 360° 3D virtual reality fly-through visualization platform provides medical teams with surgical planning, training, and navigation capabilities. The platform’s fully immersive capabilities are a tool for medical education and collaboration as well as for giving patients and their families better insights into upcoming procedures. The virtual and augmented reality pre-operative simulations improve outcomes and minimize the risks inherent in complex surgeries while reducing procedure costs due to unexpected complications. Precision XR is currently used in cranial, spine, cardiac, and thoracic surgeries. Surgical Theater has more than 30 US granted patents with more pending and international patents. Its systems are deployed in numerous US medical centers including the Mayo Clinic, New York University, Mount Sinai, Stanford, as well as in Italy, Germany, and Israel. The company offices are located in the US.
