(Updated Thursday 9:15 AM) A high-level security meeting held last night at the home of US ambassador Daniel Kurtzer, between Israeli and Palestinian Authority officials ended without an agreement. The leaders met to discuss Defense Minister Binyamin Ben-Eliezer’s “Gaza first” plan. The proposal calls for the IDF to withdraw from PLO-controlled areas, one area at time, and the transferring of security responsibilities over to the PA. Last night, The PA rejected the implementation of the plan because while Israel insisted that troops only pull out of Gaza at this time, the PA demanded an immediate pullback from Bethlehem as well. Despite the outcome, both parties have agreed to meet again next week.
