For the sake of bribing Turkey’s autocratic, would-be Sultan Erdogan the Great’s taking over of all the oil rich lands of majority Kurdish northern Iraq and Syria that the Ottoman Turkish Empire lost to Great Britain’s Mandate of Mesopotamia via the League of Nations’ Mosul Decision of 1925, the Barzani led Kurdish Democratic Party (KDP) has been cozying up to its Turkish tormentors at the expense of its Syrian  Kurdish brothers and sisters very lives and partial autonomy.

Mark Levin: US Enemies Funding/Corrupting US Education; Iran’s Useful Idiots/Allies in America; Justice Jacksons Hijinks

Peloni:  In the opening segment, Mark begins by citing the May 1 MEMRI report relating a recent column penned by a close associate of Khamenei who advocated for the assassination of President Trump as vengeance for the 2020 execution of Soleimani.  He also explains that Iran continues to threaten the US while it builds its ICBM missiles which will be capable of hitting the US with a nuclear bomb if their nuclear program is not ended.  Once Iran becomes a nuclear power, it can sell these weapons to other bad actors and/or coerce the shutdown of competing oil producers.  Speaking directly to the antisemitic Woke Right, Mark warns that the threat from a nuclear Iran remains a threat against America, not just Israel, and that thanks to Israel, Iran has only minimal air defenses which will, however, be rebuilt in time with the help of Russia and China, thus providing only a short window of opportunity to end Iran’s nuclear program.

What Israel Has Done for the U.S. Military

Peloni:  If the US did not have access to the Israeli military to test, improve and innovate US military hardware in real battlefield conditions, it would greatly change the advantage which the US today enjoys over its adversaries.  As Amb. Ettinger has repeatedly stated, Israel provides the US with a unique force multiplying advantage for the US military which greatly dwarfs the US investment allocated to Israel.  But this is just part of the benefits to the US tax payer which comes from such an investment, which Ettinger explores in the following seven minute video:

By | May 2, 2025

Israel receives $3.8 billion in annual military aid from the US government. Almost all of it is spent on American weapons. This aid is not a one-way street. Israel has done more to improve existing American weaponry, and to share with the American military the IDF’s latest technological innovations, than all of the NATO countries combined. Professor John Spencer has provided a description of those Israeli advances that are now benefiting American servicemen here: “How Israeli Military Technology Continues to Improve the US Military,” by John Spencer and Liam Collins, INSS, April 27, 2025:

Contra Taki on Israel

By Walter E. Block

Taki Theodoracopulos is the editor of Taki’s Magazine, which is a paleo-conservative periodical. He does not much like the concept of “Greater Israel.” He is dead set against Donald Trump’s plan to banish some two million Palestinians from their ancestral homes in Gaza. Pretty much the first words out of his mouth, well, off his laptop, in this Israeli denunciation of his, surprise, surprise, well, I’ll let you read what he writes:

“… the first man to think about displacing a whole populace was one Adolf Hitler, although he never went through with it. He decided to kill them instead. I am talking about plans to deracinate the Gaza population to faraway places, 2 million souls in all, give or take 100,000, depending on the death toll of innocent old men, women, and children following the Israeli bombardment of the place.”

Dismissal of National Security Advisor Mike Waltz reportedly connected to Iran policy and secret coordination with Israeli PM Netanyahu

Peloni:  The irony of this report is that Waltz, who was a former member of the Bush wing of the Republican party, was too forwardly inclined toward interventionist action, so he is now to be replaced with another former member of the Bush wing of the Republican party, Sec. of State Rubio.  In fact, if the setting of Waltz meeting with Netanyahu just prior to the Oval Office meeting was what doomed Waltz, why was he the only one penalized for doing so, recalling that Witkoff was also present in that meeting.  As Lee Smith noted on X, “Washington Post is always anti-Trump and not to be trusted. This story also comes from anti-MAGA schemers trying to undermine US national security and tilt to Iran terror state. Basically, it’s evidence of another anti-Trump coup, from the inside.”

The recently fired U.S. National Security Advisor Mike Waltz reportedly angered President Donald Trump with his embrace of hardline policies toward the Islamic Republic of Iran.

When Tehran Demands the Impossible

by Amir Taheri  •  Gatestone Institute  •  May 4, 2025

Judging by comments and leaks from the Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi and President Donald Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff — although problems remain — things are going smoothly. Trump himself keeps saying that he expects “a good agreement” without spelling out what that means. The fact, however, is that so far nothing has happened. (AI generated image of Steve Witkoff meeting Abbas Araqchi)

  • There is, of course, one non-judicial way to make sure a deal sticks: Remove the root causes of enmity. For example, let’s start by releasing the US hostages and make sure that no further hostages are taken during what remains of Trump’s term.

A Promise Kept: Israel Moves to Defend the Druze Across the Border

John Spencer

In the early hours of Thursday morning, Israeli fighter jets struck military targets near the Syrian presidential palace in Damascus. The strike came after days of escalating attacks against Druze communities in Syria by jihadist elements believed to be aligned with Syria’s newly formed Islamist-led government. It was also the clearest message yet that Israel considers the protection of the Druze—both inside its borders and across them—not just a moral duty, but a strategic commitment.

From Israel: Look! How Marvelous Our People Are!!

Arlene Kushner | May 1, 2025

Marvelous because we are never defeated and emerge from attack even stronger.

The arson set in multiple localities yesterday was an attack; three people have been arrested for arson and the Shin Bet is investigating. And this is the message of resilience we impart today as we emerge from the worst of the flames.

Israel using old airstrike policy with new Syrian gov’t – is it outdated?

Peloni:  The divisions among the Druze and the disparate interest of the various factions regarding Israel’s support of their situation, it begs the question as to what Israel’s next step should be given the all too likely possibility that air strikes will not secure the safety of the Kurds in Syria.

The Druze in Syria are divided between different leaders and voices. It’s likely that many want a middle ground and prefer some kind of autonomy but don’t want a full break with Damascus.

Israel has carried out two sets of airstrikes on Syria over the last two days. In the first hours of Saturday morning the IDF said that “a short while ago, the IDF struck a military site, anti-aircraft cannons, and surface-to-air missile infrastructure in Syria.” On Friday, the IDF said “IDF fighter jets struck adjacent to the area of the Palace of Hussein al-Sharaa in Damascus.”
