H2Pro
Overview: H2Pro
Water electrolysis – the conventional method for producing green hydrogen – is inherently inefficient and costly. H2Pro's E-TAC solves the key challenges of conventional electrolysis by generating hydrogen and oxygen at separate times. This significantly lowers power consumption compared to electrolysis, yielding an unparalleled 95% system efficiency (compared to 60-70% efficiency of alternative methods). This also eliminates the need for a membrane and allows for mass-produced low-cost electrodes, resulting in a safe and easily scalable design at greatly reduced cost.
Headquartered in Caesarea, Israel, H2Pro was founded in 2019 based on years of research conducted at the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. H2Pro has raised over $100M. It is backed by leading investors and strategic partners, including Bill Gates-founded Breakthrough Energy Ventures, Temasek Holdings, ArcelorMittal, Yara Growth Ventures, Hyundai, Sumitomo Corporation, and New Fortress Energy.
H2Pro’s 0.4MW pilot systems will launch in 2023 and its commercial production line will begin manufacturing in 2024 via its first factory in Tziporit, Israel. H2Pro has signed a series of strategic agreements for demo and commercial deployment of its technology.
