Technion students from The Control Robotics and Machine Learning lab, in the Viterbi Faculty of Electrical Engineering built these autonomous robotic arms to play songs on a xylophone. The user may select one of the pre-defined songs to play (songs which have already been tested) or select a new midi file to play according to Instructions that come with the program.
The program then converts the selected song to notes and timing and starts playing it. The code is written in Matlab. One Arduino is used to control the mechanics and 8 Servo motors are used for moving 4 sticks (2 motors for each).…...more
