Israel is a country diverse and vibrant in culture, color and flavor–so much so that we dubbed it one of the top places to visit in 2017. We tapped BAZAAR.com contributor and travel photographer Sharon Zobali for her tour of the country's biggest hubs–in photos. Here, 30 photos to give you a sense of the country's key sites that will make you want to book a trip sooner rather than later.

This beach lives up to its folkloric reputation for being the body of water where swimmers can never sink. Thanks to the endless amounts of therapeutic salts in the water, here you can watch unsinkable floaters drift by–or take a dip and experience it for yourself.

Also in this part of the country? The world's most famous spas. But, you don't have to go to one of the area's best known beauty destinations for a head to toe treatment that will transform your skin. Here, a woman washes the natural mud from the Dead Sea off of her body, which moisturizes the skin as it protects swimmers from the sting of the salt.

The Western Wall, also referred to as the Wailing Wall or in Hebrew, the Kotel, is located in the Jewish quarter and is the last wall standing of the Second Jewish Temple. Due to its connection to the Temple Mount, the wall is considered the holiest place where Jews are permitted to pray. Located on the Temple Mount is the Dome of the Rock; the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Dome of the Rock compound is one of the oldest works of Islamic architecture, the holiest point for the country's Muslim community and is the third holiest Muslim site in the world.

The Church of Holy Sepulchre, also called the Church of the Resurrection is located in the Christian Quarter of the Old City. It is believed that Jesus was buried and resurrected here, and the tomb of Jesus is located inside the church. Within the church are the last four stations of the Via Dolorosa, which is believed to be the path that Jesus walked on the way to his crucifixion.
