**Disclaimer**

Fight.

It’s an action some encourage and others dissuade. Since the day I was born, fighting has been instilled into my mind. Regardless of your opinion, it’s something we all do. At some point in time, consciously or subconsciously—either emotionally, physically, or spiritually—we struggle. Many will strive to withstand their battles, but only those who were born to fight will overcome them.

A true fighter lacks weakness. They abstain from carelessness and refrain from trusting their opponents, but most importantly, they never accept defeat.

I am a true born fighter. Each second of every day, I fight. Rip the ones I love most away from me, I kill. If I’ve learned anything from this life, it’s to always expect the unexpected. As long as my heart continues to beat, and no matter the costs, I will be victorious.

Copy given by author in exchange of an honest review. (My first copy ever given by an author! So excited!)
The beginning was so quick... I would've liked to read more about the first steps of their love. It seemed to me that the first part (20-30%) of the book was rushed.
But... then it all started to take shape. I was so sad when I read about Elijah and Bentley. A kid should never go through pain and sickness. But I know that is impossible even in real life. Unfortunately things like this... happen and all we can do is fight. This whole book was about fighting. Professionally and unprofessionally (by unprofessionally, I mean fighting for dear life).
Madisyn and Blaze were such a beautiful couple... I could feel the love flying over the pages of this book. And I hope to read more about them. I dismiss that ending!
I have to say... that ending!!! What a cliffhanger! Damn it... I can't wait to read the second book, because honestly, my heart is broken right now. I love Blaze. A kind and respectful man that made my heart blossom.
To sum this up, the book was beautiful. Well written, with quotes that I felt running through my veins. I will definitely recommend it to my friends!
My favorite quotes:
"At night, the sadness, the emptiness, the depression... they rise and consume every part of me."
"I'm able to shower you with kisses and drown you with love."
"Time can't heal the pain of grief. It's like a deep cut; the wound itself may heal, but the scar that remains is a constant reminder that something you once had is gone."
"My heart fractures a bit at his words."
"I walked into a gym and I saw a girl who brightened my fucking world with more colors than I knew existed."
"Happiness isn't defined by your circumstances, but what you make of the situations."

➖The story started out really great and I was starting to really get into it, but it went downhill pretty quickly. Madisyn (17) and Blaze (20) meet at an MMA gym and are instantly attracted to each other. After Blaze shows Madisyn some moves, they share a kiss. It immediately jumps to their 10 year anniversary...WTF? I needed a little more to feel their connection!

➖Desperately needs an editor!!! This was the most difficult book I've ever read because of the dialogue formatting. They have entire conversations within the same lines of text. I had to retread everything twice just to figure out who was speaking and when it switched to the other person. And to make it even harder to discern the dialogue, there were missing quotation marks!

➖Several characters are introduced without identifying who they were and I felt lost...time to bail on this one.

➖Ends in a MAJOR CLIFFHANGER, which was not indicated!

➖About 120 pages.

Blaze and Madisyn may be one of my favorite couples! Their attraction was instantaneous and undeniable. Even through the many life changing events that they experience, they remain strong in their faith.

Julie Bailes has a knack for reducing me to tears, and Fatal Knockout was no exception. I was in tears from the beginning and I'm sure more will be shed as I read book two of this series. Fatal Knockout is a must read, and will be high on my list of books to recommend to my friends.

A book you must read!

Well-written story about an MMA fighter and his sweetheart. Blaze and Madisyn meet young, about 21 and 18 respectively, but they're instantly pierced by Cupid's arrow and devoted to one another. The book follows them for about a decade, through engagement and marriage, pregnancy and heartache, training and tournaments.

Blaze and Madisyn are supported by their close family and friends, including her brother and grandparents, his best friend and sparring partner, and his sister. One of my favorite story lines involves Blaze's sister and her young son. Lots of emotional ups and downs there.

This book does have a nasty cliffhanger, which I was not expecting. Really left me hanging too. The next book is rumored to be ready by the end of summer and you can bet I'll be devouring it when it's released.

Let me say now I loved this book !!! This is a new to me author and I'm so glad I got the chance to read this book. I don't know if I can wait until fall for the conclusion...
Blaze knew the moment he laid eyes on Madisyn that he would marry her some day. Eight years later their love is just as string. This couple will endure more heart break than anyone should have to for a lifetime.
I loved every single word I read. I don't give spoilers so just know that this is a must read.

First let me say I read the rewrite I did not read the original version.
Second WTH that ending I am speechless I can't believe what I read! Just stunned
Ok now the book. It was fantastic!! An emotional ride like no other, I seriously could not put it down. I feel drained from all the tears. I absolutely love when a book makes me feel and good lord I felt every word. This story broke my heart multiple times but made me smile just as many.
I think what I loved the most is Madisyn and Blaze have an unfaltering true love. From day one they fell hard and fast it only grew no drama, no break ups just pure love. Through ups and way too many downs they were each other's rocks. A beautiful love story that warmed my heart.
And then I was hit with a jaw dropping ending.....

Really JULIE!?!???! How can you make me fall for these amazing characters and shatter me like that? But that's okay.... I know you will fix this. LOL! This was a beautiful read. I loved the story and I fell for the characters instantly. Their chemistry is super intense and passionate. The angst and tension had me hooked and didn't let me go. When I finished I was in tears and wanting more immediately. Julie did a wonderful job with this book!!!!!!!

This is a hard review for me to write. When I came across the blurb for this book, my interest was piqued. I love fight romances with the gruff alphaness and rawness that surrounds these male characters. But when it came to this particular story, I struggled but I preserved until the end. Since finishing, I realised that I have read another book by this author, Sexed Into Submission, which I rather enjoyed but this book felt so different to that.

Madisyn has known tragedy. At a young age, her family was ripped apart. It was during this difficult time that she met Blaze Benson, an up and coming MMA fighter. Instant attraction lead to a whirlwind romance and a lifetime commitment. But life was not destined to be easy for this pair. But together they can overcome everything, can't they?

For me, this was just an okay read. I actually liked the premise of the storyline. I think that it has good bones to be an awesome book, if executed a little differently. But of course, this is just my opinion.

I think that both of the main characters and all of the supporting characters were likeable. I believe that I would have been able to connect with them more if I wasn’t so caught up on a few things. I could sense the emotion and feelings that the author was trying to portray but I couldn't quite get there. Madisyn was sassy and strong but had an underlying sense of vulnerability. While Blaze was all alpha and protector of what he considered his.

There were moments of heat and passion in this book, but something felt a bit off. For example, Madisyn still blushed after 10 years of marriage but then would throw herself and be sassy to her husband.

There were two main things that didn’t work for me in this book that then made me struggle with the rest of the story. The first one was that way that certain important events were completely brushed over leading me to miss the importance of other actions further in the book. A prime example of this was the way that the courtship of Blaze and Madisyn was reduced to one chapter in which we just got that they were instantly attracted to each other. We got no build up of companionship and true love through irresistible glances and touches. I really think missing the build up did a disservice to the whole story and chemistry. There is another major example but I would be giving a massive spoiler so I won't include it.

The other major issue that I had was the presentation of some of the storyline. Now I wouldn't usually bring it up, as I received an ARC, but I was lead to believe it had been fixed up so I am going to mention it. I found the transition of characters speaking very hard going at times. I would be reading a scene and not realise that another character was talking as it was all lumped together. This then made me confused and led me to have to re-read the section to differentiate the "voices". For me this took me away from the story quite significantly.

I really, really wanted to love this story. I was just too distracted at times to really get into it and feel what the author was trying to portray to me. These may not be issues for a lot of readers, but for me I just couldn't move past it.

In the end, I am sure that I will read another book by this author as I have enjoyed other stories. It just that this one was not for me.

No Connection (Being Generous with 3 Stars)

It breaks my heart to write this review because I really loved the Shaken Series but I just couldn't get into this book. Unfortunately, there were several issues with it that made me completely disconnected to both the characters and the storyline.

It started out so captivating. I loved the instant connection between Maddie and Blaze...and then the connection got severed as soon as the ten-year jump in timeline happened. One of the ways readers connect with characters and their love story is to actually read about their love and how it grows. That didn't happen here because they met and then BAM, it jumps ten years later and they're already married. A jump is more than fine, however, at least give us a little more details on the beginning of their relationship.

Also, the way some of the characters was introduced was just confusing. Names were thrown out and it took pages (or sometimes chapters) to introduce who those characters actually were to the storyline.

Another HUGE problem for me was the fact that there were multiple people talking within the same paragraph without clear identity indications. Why not separate them into different paragraphs so there is a clear indication of who is talking? I'm just so confused at this. It seems incredibly lazy on the author's part.

Like I said, it breaks my heart that I wasn't connected to these characters like I was for the Shaken Series. I am really looking forward to Blake's book (Team Blake!) but I don't think I'm going to be continuing with the Fatal Knockout series.

I received an arc from the author for an honest review.

I knew the second that Julie Bailes started talking about the book she was writing months ago that I had to read Fatal Knockout. She's an automatic one click author for me and I don't miss her books. Get Fatal Knockout now and you will see what I mean and then you will read every book she's ever written. I have to say too that Darren Hitchcock did an amazing job modeling for the cover and I really enjoyed picturing him as Blaze. It's an awesome cover if ever there's been one.

Grab your tissues and dive on in. Blaze and Madison have the kind of love that we all hope and pray we find in our lifetime. They are pure perfection together and now one of my favorite book couple of all time. That's saying something too because my favorite has always been Travis and Abby from Beautiful Disaster, but not anymore. What an amazing family surrounding and supporting Blaze and Madison. Each has their own story but this only makes them the best support system ever. I have to stop or I'm going to ruin something for someone and I hate spoilers.

Grab Fatal Knockout , a box of Kleenex and your favorite drink because your not going to want to put it down. I can no wait for the next book. It can not come soon enough. Julie Bailes you've blown me away once again and that's something I hope you never ever stop doing

Fair warning you all...Grab the tissues before you sit down and start this book! You will definitely need them. I swear it's one heartbreak after another in this one and most have to do with children which always gets me crying.
Blaze and Madisyn meet and feel in love very quickly.. They have the dream relationship but have faced many heartbreaking events in their 10 yrs of marriage. Blaze is the top fighter and everyone wants trained or to fight him. He is simply the best at what he does and is so overly protective of Madisyn. She is his whole entire world besides his nephew Bentley. What can I say about that little boy? He is a fighter in another way but has a way to bring the laughs and make everyone feel comfortable. Madisyn, is a trainer herself but since getting pregant Blaze is trying to put a stop to it. So comical reading their fights but they truly love each other. Trouble is brewing and nobody knows for sure what is going to happen. I have one complaint about this book...It ends way too soon but believe me I know why she did it...it's just I wanted more story and not something totally different. Regardless of that, this book was so beautifully written and it pulls at the heartstrings so much that you will need a whole box of Kleenex...

*I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest review*

Now that my tears have subsided, I can gather my thoughts on this and write a review. I adored this book. I loved it. I love the use of flashbacks to tell backstory. The pace was good. The characters were developed. I wish that there had been a little more backstory on some of the minor characters, but it wasn't about them, so that's ok. (Hey, J. Maybe Declan, Dawson, Keisha, and Bentley should have their own books?) They were developed perfectly and I love all of them, regardless of backstory! The plot was.... amazing. There were elements that have been done, but that's the truth for every novel ever written. What makes Julie's stories amazing is her ability to make a plot that's been done and make it feel unique to her characters. By the end, I was in tears! And fair warning, there's one heck of a cliff hanger. Can't wait for book 2! Woman, you're gunna be the death of me, I swear! I thought this book was well worth the read! You won't be sorry you bought it!

4.5 STAR READ!!!

Blaze and Madisyn meet and fall in love instantly. They have had many events that have hurt, but have also strengthened their relationship in the 10 years they have been married. Blaze and Madisyn both are trainers at the gym, but Blaze is the top fighter and everyone either wants to fight him or train with him. Blaze is very protective over his pregnant wife and wants her to stop training in order to protect her and his child. What they don't know is that they is trouble coming for them and it could ruin everything that they have worked hard for, for their future. I hated how the book ended! Only because now I have to wait for the next one to come out! I also was a little confused while reading it because in some parts, there were multiple people talking and it didn't really tell you who was talking, so you kind of had to guess as to who it was.

I was gifted this arc for an honest review and because I was looking for a story exactly like this. This book did not let me down. It's sickeningly sweet lol In a good way, the characters have that beautiful eternal kind of love and I love being able to see the past and be apart of their future during the story. I knew I wouldn't have answers at the end of this ride but it didn't soften the blow I felt once I finished reading lol I asked my kindle all the questions I had stored up during my read but to no avail I didn't receive not a one... Sigh... but I can genuinely say I'm very excited about this book and I am very glad I was able to read this amazing story.

With a one, two punch combination, Fatal Knockout hits the ground running with this action and suspense packed novel. This book will sucker punch you in the gut with its gritty and emotional story lines that converge to a breaking point at the end of the novel. Blaze and Madison have that kind of romance that will weather the drama laid storm of their life. I can’t say too much about this book without giving away the storyline or plot twists. I will say this. I was left sobbing when I realized the book was ending.

Julie Bales, you can’t do shit to me like that! I need more now!

I liked how Blaze and Madisyn met at the gym and immediately fell in love during their first encounter. She is a trainer and he is a fighter and thanks to the love for each other and their family they overcome all the challenges life throws at them.
The last page came too soon leaving me hanging and desperate to read more about these characters.
I hope the second book in the series will be released soon.

So I bought the book at a meet-and-greet a couple weeks ago and I'm just now getting around to read it. Oh my gosh... Like grab a box of tissues before you read it okay just just go ahead and grab one because I laughed and I cried and it is set in Up & Down roller coaster of emotions with this book. The bill narration is amazing I love seeing things from both sides their love is beyond the stars what everyone would hope for in real life. The amount of tragedy that this couple endures is just unfathomable. I'm literally started reading this book about 3 hours ago and could not put it down could not like from the first page I was drawn in and it gripped me. It's like they settle into this routine and then bam something bad happens and they get back in this good routine and Bam something else bad happens I cried I cried a lot in this book but I love it and it leaves you with this "what the ****" At the end cliffhanger and now I have to wait for the next book... it is definitely one click Worthy buy it buy it like right now and read it it is phenomenal

I fell so dang hard for this story. Fatal Knockout is one of the best love stories I've read in a really long time.

I'm all for characters that fall hard and fast for each other--when the chemistry is there and you know they are meant to be together. This is the case with Madisyn and Blaze. Blaze was just perfect for me and I wish that every man would love their significant other the way that he does Madisyn. This man, he literally worshiped the ground she walked on.

Madisyn was truly genuine too. Through tragedy and heartache and lots of ups and downs in her life, she's strong-minded and determined. I love her grandparents too. Such a sweet, loving couple.

There wasn't one thing about this story that I didn't like. Julie Bailes nailed it from the first page all the way to the very last. If you want a story that just gives you goosebumps from all the emotions, read it now!

Strap in for an incredible roller coaster of emotions as you experience Madisyn and Blaze’s journey. Madisyn and her brother Dawson are trying to recover from the worst loss any children could face as they take over the family business. When Blaze strolls into the gym one day and decides to give Madisyn some pointers, oh how foolish he is. This starts a wonderful romance as these two strong-willed and driven individuals find a way to balance each other. As they build their lives, they are faced with many new challenges. Some coming from the past while others are the challenges couples must face. This is a life long journey with so many emotional ups and downs making me laugh, cry and swoon while keeping me guessing. Add to that their explosive sexual chemistry and this is a juicy romance to sink your teeth into. There is a heart pounding cliff hanger that left me reeling and anxious for part 2. I voluntarily read an ARC of this book and this is my honest review.

This was my 1st time reading Julie Bailes, so I didn't know what to expect. When I saw the cover and title I assumed it was going to be your typical Fighter book. BOY was I wrong!!!
Fatal Knockout had everything I could ask for in a book, EVERY emotion was torn from the depths of my soul!!!!! I laughed, cried, yelled, cursed and had to walk away!!!
I wanted to become a character myself so I could GET. IT. DONE!!!!
But....... sigh... Blaze is........... well quite the man!!!! MadIsyn and Blaze' Love story is once in a lifetime love!! They have lost loved ones, been wronged by loved ones and together they fight their way to happiness, but there are people and circumstances that make getting there a lot harder than it should!!! I will say that I was left gutted But I have hope!!!
I can't wait to see what's next!!!

Ok to be honest I'm really torn on this book. I really wanted to enjoy this book, the storyline was there but it really fell down on execution. There was no work put into building the two main characters stories or giving the reader the connection to the characters.

In a nut shell, it seems to me the whole story was rushed. I found I was going back and re-reading sections because I became lost and there were so many characters introduced to the story I started to think there was another book I had missed reading before this one. And I have to say, the term 'squirt' should never be used in any sex scene ever!

So I'm really giving this book a generous 2 & half stars, because as mentioned, the storyline was there, loved the cliffhanger, but that's it. This book needs a great editor to go through and re-work it into the book it really should be.

Well, she did it! Ms. Bailes broke me with this book. Mady and Blaze have so much love for each other and they'll need every ounce of that love to overcome all the adversities that are in their path. What this book proves is that love can conquer all, and when a couple faces these challenges head on, anything is possible.

I absolutely loved everything about this book and am so happy with this newly updated version of this book. The grittiness and rawness of their pain along with their overwhelming love for each other could be felt coming from each page. Add to it the MMA world that Blaze is in and you understand where his strength comes from. Now the wait begins for book two!!!

This is a whirlwind of love, hot shot MMA fighter and emotions. Fatal Knockout was something I didn't want to put down. Blaze and Madisyn are meant to be together and their love overcomes so much! The emotions run high in this read. Be prepared with tissues cause you will need them! The story completely absorbs you and I don't think I will ever be released from its grasp ever.

The ending is a cliff hanger but it was worth the read and then some. I was shattered by this story. Completely shattered. I'm hoping that in the continuation of the story, the questions I have are answered.

Fall can't come soon enough!

This is the first book I've read by Julie Bailes, and can't wait to read more.

When Madisyn and Blaze meet its love at first sight. They're inseparable, made for each other in every way. Together they're like to halves of a whole..

Blaze is a MMA fighter that's had a rough upbringing, but has worked really hard to make something of his life. Even when he still battles the demons of his past...

Madisyn has grown up in, and around MMA fighting. She can take care of herself, knows how to fight, but is sweet, kind and very caring. She's also suffered her own share of grief in the past..

This is the story of their life together. The good and the bad, and OMG! It's one hell of a ride.
